LINNWOOD HISTORIC HOUSE"Linnwood" is the historic home in Guildford built by George McCredie, for whom the McCredie Memorial Church was named after. McCredie Church celebrated its centenary in October 2005. A few years ago, as a result of some resident action, the house and its grounds were saved from being sold by the government for redevelopment. Dorothy Warwick [George McCredie Uniting Church & Friends of Linnwood] is President of the Friends of Linnwood; the house is opened for public access every two months with lots of displays and activities. Dorothy writes, “Linnwood is a jewel in our own backyard. Many people in Holroyd still don't know that Linnwood exists and we are always trying to invite more of our local people to come and see what a lovely house it is - sitting on 5 ha of ground in the middle of Guildford.” For further information, contact Dorothy at linnwood@optusnet.com.au, 9632 9203 www.linnwood.holroyd.nsw.gov.au CONCRETING SERVICESBruce Stanley of Merrylands Anglican Church endorses "Tony Jarrett, who runs a concreting business and is really needing more work at the moment, especially with churches.
